SipSync Privacy Policy
SipSync is built and maintained by Studio Parkar. This policy explains what data SipSync processes, how it is used, and your choices.
1. Data We Collect
Data you create in the app:
- Hydration logs (amount, drink type, timestamp)
- Hydration goal and schedule settings
- Unit preference (oz/ml) and app preferences
This data supports reminders, progress, history, iOS widgets, and Apple Watch sync behavior.
Health data (optional):
- Step count
- Active calories
- Workout data
- Heart-rate related signals used for activity-aware hydration adjustments
If enabled, SipSync may also write hydration intake to Apple Health. HealthKit data is used for in-app hydration functionality only.
Analytics and diagnostics:
- PostHog for app usage analytics and product insights
- Sentry for crash/error diagnostics (for example stack traces and technical context)
2. How Data Is Used
- Operate hydration tracking, reminders, and progress features
- Enable activity-aware hydration targets when HealthKit is permitted
- Improve reliability, performance, and UX quality
- Measure usage patterns and feature outcomes
3. Third-Party Services
- PostHog (analytics)
- Sentry (error/crash diagnostics)
- RevenueCat (subscription infrastructure)
- Apple platform services (HealthKit, WidgetKit, WatchConnectivity, CloudKit)
Each third-party provider operates under its own terms and privacy practices.
4. Sync and Storage
- SipSync stores hydration data in local on-device storage (SwiftData).
- SipSync supports iCloud sync via private CloudKit database for app data continuity across Apple devices signed into the same account.
- Some app settings sync via iCloud key-value store.
- Widget and Watch state sharing uses Apple App Group storage to keep surfaces aligned.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data. Data is shared only with service providers required to operate SipSync.
6. Retention and Deletion
Data is retained as needed to operate the product, troubleshoot issues, and meet legal obligations. You can remove app data by deleting app data or uninstalling SipSync from your device.
7. Your Choices
- You can decline or revoke HealthKit permissions in iOS Settings.
- You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
- You can stop using the app and remove device-stored data.
8. Children's Privacy
SipSync is not directed to children under 13.
